Life & History[edit | edit source]

Josh Beardmore was born in Scunthorpe in the year 2000, his parents are divorced and has been brought up as a working class citizen. He was brought up in a whole catholic terrain by going to schools as well as attending church sessions at a younger age. Josh Beardmore started becoming interested in Formula One whilst Lewis Hamilton & Jenson Button were driving for McLaren Mercedes, and ever since then it has been his dream to join the McLaren Program. In 2014 Josh was signed up to the McLaren Academy, where he can start his dream career with the fellow British team. Josh Beardmore owes the favor to Martin Whitmarsh who was the former CEO of the McLaren team before he was removed from position and replaced by Ron Dennis who changed the company to the McLaren Group Limited. Since the removal Whitmarsh by Dennis he has kept a close eye of the young British driver in the academy and his engineers and academy tutors have seen a major strong connection forming with the efforts of the British Phenomenon.

He has recently signed a two year deal with McLaren F1 Team in 2019, alongside his teammate Lando Norris. At the start of the 2019 F1 Season Joshua Beardmore got off to a very rough start to the season as in Australia he DNF in his first ever grand prix, but in Bahrain he got the feel for the car and managed to grab an 8th Position in his first full race finish. it all seemed to be starting off well for Mr Beardmore as he approached his highest ever position which was 4th in China, and all the way up until Canada he finished inbetween 8th-12th, It was a very average approach to the early races of the season but since he was still gaining little amount of points, it all added up. Then he approached the French Grand Prix where he achieved his first ever Podium which was 3rd. From this point on up until Germany which was 3 races ahead, he still managed to finish in the top 10. His middle sector of a season apart from the first two races in the middle sector of the season, was pretty average with positions once again around 8th-14th position. Then he arrived at the Russian Grand Prix which he won his first ever Grand Prix for Formula One, and McLaren's first victory for 7 Years. Straight after this grand prix he was given a new teammate former Ferrari Driver Charles Leclerc, who from this point on was on Beardmore's Toes and out performed him in 80% of the races that were left. All together this season Beardmore achieved 3 Podiums, 1 Victory & 7th in the Drivers Championship for the Rookie's Season to be the "Best of the Rest" is pretty impressive for the young driver. Which is why he continued to perform the year after for the team in 2020.
