The Nations Games (also known colloquially as the Nation Games) is a major sporting event for the United Kingdom and its oversea territories featuring summer sports, in which hundreds of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. The competition is held among athletes from nations of the United Kingdom and British Oversea Territories, every two years in the year with the Commonwealth Games and the Summer Olympic Games. The Nation Games also hosts a Winter Games every two years when the Summer Games aren't scheduled to be hosted. This makes a games happen every year, only one year its a summer games and one is a Winter Games The Winter Games concept was inspired by Vancouver's Olympics in 2010 before its debut in 2013. The games themselves were established in 2008 the same year as the Beijing Summer Olympics.
